Design Vision
In the heart of Silicon Valley, downtown Campbell has several key assets that can be leveraged as placemaking mechanisms – a vibrant commercial core with popular restaurants and attractions (including a weekly farmer's market); outdoor amenities like Campbell Park and the Los Gatos Creek Trail that provide recreation, active transportation, and social spaces; and a diverse community with a highly skilled workforce. Prioritizing a pedestrian connection between physical assets serves to link social assets and is a basis for economic development. By activating under-utilized properties and fostering small business development, the Downtown Concept Plan aims to reinforce the community's values and small-town character.

The Innovation Ecosystem
Concentrating a variety of skills and services in a relatively small area fosters creativity and entrepreneurship by encouraging serendipitous, everyday interactions between people across professional and socio-economic backgrounds. The City of Campbell is in the heart of one of the most economically productive regions in the country. By tapping into existing professional networks and creating space for small business incubation, the Downtown Camp-bell Concept Plan connects physical assets within the downtown area to enable innovation and entrepreneurship.
